People with disabilities, as all other persons applying for a driving license, must pass a medical test and a medical commission decides whether the applicant is medically able to drive a car and if so, under which circumstance. They also have to evaluate if and how the car needs to be adapted in order to guarantee that everyone has the chance to keep his personal mobility.
The adaptations can be adjusted to almost every type of vehicle, so that the people with disabilities are not restraint by the choice of what vehicle they would like to drive.
If the driving right is restraint to the modifications foreseen on a valid driving license (e.g. on European driving licenses codes are provided), then the holder has to assure that his own or the rental car fulfills those modifications.
