Regulations for people with disabilities to obtain a driving licences
Regulations on the Driving Rights of Persons with Disabilities in the Republic of Moldova are established by Order No. 738/2023 of the Ministry of Health, regarding the Implementing the rules for medical examination of drivers.
Vehicle type and adaptation to controls
In accordance with the medical examination, if the person concerned is only fit to drive a specific type of motor vehicle, the vehicle must be officially registered and indicated on the driving license.
Driving licenses are adapted to suit the specific characteristics related to disability, which are indicated on the license itself, in the “”Restrictions”” section, in accordance with Annex No. 1 to Government Decision No. 12/2009 approving the Rules on the medical examination of drivers and candidates for a driving license.
Application to foreign driving licence holders
In general, the rules of the country of origin are also accepted in Republic of Moldova if the driver is only visiting the Country with his/her own or rented car.
